GAPS Diet (and other natural treatments) for Autism and ADD · Angela Taylor
This monthly group is open to any holistic health practitioner who wants to talk with practitioners in their own and other modalities. The purposes are: skill-building, sharing information and experiences, and discovering methods to develop ourselves and support each other.
Angela Taylor’s son (James) was diagnosed with autism at age 2. After a year of speech therapy with no appreciable results, Taylor embarked upon the GAPS diet. After one year on GAPS, her son was fully recovered. Angela will present the main ideas behind the GAPS diet, including the science behind the gluten-free, grain-free, lactose-free, and soy-free prohibitions. She will discuss her cookbook, The BrainFood Cookbook, which helps to make the SCD/GAPS/Paleo diet accessible and useable for parents, through clearly presenting the scientific rationale, having recipes that taste good, and giving parents a clear framework that they can follow. Depending upon the interests of the group, the discussion will be either on how practitioners encourage clients to try new things, or their use of foods in health and healing.
Angela Taylor holds 3 degrees from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a certificate from Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She is currently enrolled in the Masters Program in Human Clinical Nutrition at Maryland University of Integrated Health.
We will meet at Ruscombe’s Hill House Conference Room, 4801 Yellowwood Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21209. See www.ruscombe.org for more. The cost is $5.00 to cover expenses.
