At Ruscombe we’re passionate about nourishing people through food! Our Co-op Café offers light, vegetable-centric meals as part of our Cooking for Health platform.
Three chefs offer weekly service on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and every other Sunday. Call ahead, pre-order, pick up, or enjoy dining in our charming greenhouse or outside around the goldfish pond.
Wednesdays 10AM – 3PM we welcome Chef Asia Harris, the “Black Baltimore Vegan,” an independent female black-owned mobile catering company operating in the inner city of Baltimore. Asia caters specialized menus for private and public events and operates a food trailer Monday – Friday from 9:00 am-4:00 pm providing an assortment of vegan breakfast sandwiches and lunch items. Well-known at their home base, the Baltimore Farmers Market, every Sunday from April–December, they enjoy engaging with the community and running their social media platforms on Instagram and facebook @blackbaltimorevegan. Follow them there to find some vegan food tutorials, shared awareness, and positive influence. Asia is also known as “Chef Foxy” and wears multiple hats including creative director, chef, and head manager. She is skilled in healthcare management and IT, and prides herself on being authentic and genuine with her work and her craft. @blackbaltimorevegan Email: BlackBaltimoreVegan@gmail.com

Thursdays 11 AM – 3 PM we welcome Shawmain Morton, “Everything Chickpeas” presenting a softer way to eat. She’s here to give your digestion a little break — without giving up the flavors you love. At Everything Chickpeas, chickpeas become everything. From creamy coconut curry chickpeas… to Salisbury steak chickpeas… to even lasagna made with chickpeas as the base. Chickpeas reimagined like you’ve never experienced before. You may be wondering… is this vegan, vegetarian, or plant-based? It’s Neither 💛 She calls it Shawmatarian. She simply removes the meat and replaces it with chickpeas. Some dishes may still include chicken broth, beef broth, cheese, butter, eggs, or milk — so you still get those rich, comforting flavors without chewing meat. It’s meatless comfort food. Flavor without the heaviness. And it’s not just food… it’s an experience. Sip on refreshing drinks like: 🌺 Hibiscus Lemonade 🍃 Nettle Tea ✨ Cardamom Tea. Come experience Everything Chickpeas. 💛

Every other Sunday, 11AM-3PM we welcome Chef Grace Farrell, who says as far back as she can remember, she’s always loved cooking. Growing up, she didn’t always have a say in the food she ate, but as soon as she was able to cook for herself, she did and she would make just about anything. “My first dream was to become a TV chef on the Food Network,” she says, “working in a big kitchen and sharing my recipes, techniques, and creativity with the world.” That means joining the Ruscombe Community Co-Op Café and sharing her passion is a dream come true.
As a physics major, Grace’s second love is a tie between science and nature. She’s always been fascinated by how the world works, and now she wants to combine all of her passions into one experience. Her goal is to use creativity, science, and natural ingredients to create a unique dining experience that nourishes both the body and the mind.
Grace’s special passion is ginger, dating back to her Dad’s own brand called Gracie’s Gottcha Ginger. She’s incredibly excited to reintroduce it and share the passion for ginger with everyone. She’s always believed in the idea of “eat your skincare” that what we put into our bodies should help us feel and look our best. “That’s why I love creating healthy foods and drinks that support wellness from the inside out,” from cucumber tuna salads and Green Goddess salads to hot and iced ginger tea.
Ruscombe is as excited as Grace is to begin this new chapter in her culinary journey.
