It is our mission to provide a peaceful, comfortable setting to offer professional, complementary health options to the general public.
A Day of Celebrating Peace & Wellness for Baltimore and Beyond
The first annual Peace & Wellness Festival takes place October 5th* from 11 to 5 at Ruscombe Mansion (4801 Yellowwood Avenue) and the adjoining Coldspring NewTown community field. We’ll be celebrating the transformative powers of Peace & Wellness in our local and global communities with a day of inspired live music, artisan-vendors market, natural integrative healthcare practitioners, healthy food and urban sustainability exhibits and demos, thoughtfully curated children’s activities and locally-sourced, globally inspired food & beverages.
*Rain Date is October 19th
Admission is free, and folks are invited to stroll the Wellness Village on the serene grounds of the historic Ruscombe Mansion to engage with integrative health practitioners and learn about techniques to create balance, health, and inner peace in our lives. Guests can sample acupuncture, participate in Qi Gong, explore Focused Music Imagery, and enjoy a seated massage with sound bowl healing, among other holistic offerings.
Attendees can explore the Artisan & Vendor Market, composed of creators and organizations that align with the spirit of creating peace, community, healing, wellness and joy, such as Tribe School of Embodied Arts, Breathe Books, local Herbalists, Jewelry makers, Environmentally-focused organizations and much more. The Peace & Wellness Festival will be the Fall location for Tree Baltimore’s Native Tree Give-Away, and Plantation Park Heights Urban Farm will have a pop-up farm stand, with fresh local vegetables, grown by the youth of Agrihood Baltimore, for sale.
There will be live music all day across multiple genres, and adults and children alike can dance their hearts out to the drumming of the Xaala Mainama African Arts Ensemble. Children will also have the chance to engage in nature-inspired arts & crafts, and joyful play activities.
No celebration with “Wellness” in its name would be complete without nutritious delicious foods — seasonal, locally sourced and prepared to perfection. Onyx Chef Collective will be cooking up cuisines from nations seeking sovereignty, peace and wellness all over the world. Jahari, Josie and Bae of JJ&B will be serving up delicious and soul-satisfying, nutrient-packed raw dishes. Plantation Park Heights will be serving Trinidadian-style fish dishes and soursop tea. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and kidfriendly options will all be available.
Get an up-close look at “We the People”, the 1983 Mercedes Benz bio-diesel sedan hand painted by legendary Baltimore artist/muralist Dr. Robert Hieronimus, and meet the artist at the Ruscombe Wellness Village area of the Festival.
This event is a collaborative fundraiser by and for The Center for Spiritual LivingTM Greater Baltimore and Ruscombe Community, Inc. Both organizations are Maryland Nonprofit Organizations and 501(c)(3) certified.
