Green Burial returns the body to the ground in a natural, simple and dignified way, while honoring the well-being of the planet.Green Burial is environmentally friendly -no embalming, no concrete vault in the ground, uses non-toxic biodegradable casket/shroud, and the land remains in its natural state.
GBAM has been working hard to educate people (citizens, coroners, medical professionals, government workers, and legislators) and to advocate for Green Burials in the State of Maryland.
This lively presentation will cover:
- The Benefits of Green Burial
- The Environmental Impact of Conventional Burials, Cremation, and other forms of Bodily Disposition
- Options for Natural Burial- and what makes a burial truly “green”
- The Green Burial Movement in Maryland and broader trends in the US
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with the speakers.
