TMJ is the acronym for temporomandibular joint disorder. This joint can be found on each side of the face in front of the ears. It is a complicated joint because it is one of the few joints that can move side to side as well as backwards and forwards. It can also open and close like a hinge on a gate.
Symptoms directly linked to TMJ include:
joint popping
headaches
ringing in the ears and ear pain
inability to chew or bite down on hard foods.
A holistic medical view is to release the tension that surrounds the soft tissue relating to the motion and function of the brain.
Brain Therapy integrates the practice of craniosacral fascial and TMJ- dental bodywork to produce a powerful therapeutic effect for children and adults and alleviate the pain.
